Congratulations! For 17 years you have done it all. You have raised your baby through all the "laughs and cries". I bet you and I could sit down and talk about deep emotional memories of your child for hours. You've watched them form as a person and develop their unique and specific talents, opinions and styles. You've worried about them, worked to provide for them, driven them around endlessly and probably prayed for them- more than anyone could fathom! YOU DESERVE TO CELEBRATE! But, time is now SO precious and moving SO fast... that's where I come in. I've dedicated my life to the senior picture process. I will take care of everything- answer any question, soothe any anxiousness, help you feel prepared and ready for this PERFECT MOMENT in time. On shoot day, you can relax... take behind the scenes photos with your phone... videos... laugh... cry... let yourself BE IN THE MOMENT. I am here to facilitate all of it. Are You A Girl?

I'm a proud Girl Dad! I have a 12 year old daughter named Crosbie Joy who is my why. I've worked with girls for over 30 years in ministry and over 20 in photography. I know so many of your challenges, fears, joys, hopes, stresses. It's my passion on shoot day to empower you and drain you of every care or anxiety in the world and take you on a shooting adventure of a lifetime. My work in the music industry with celebrities and models has made me a master of flattering and relaxed posing and I incorporate movement and conversation to bring out the authentic you. 

Are You An Athlete?

You need to be photographed by someone who actually played ball and understands you. I played HS, College and Minor League Baseball and coached for years. I have many friends who played in the Big Leagues. I used to shoot Pro and College Sports- LA Lakers, Vandy, UCLA, San Diego Chargers, Memphis and many more. My art was birthed when I was a kid in the 80's- reading Sports Illustrated Magazine. My sports work is nationally recognized. But, what I truly enjoy is connecting and hanging out with you and encouraging you on your career... I started the sports craze in Nashville in 2014 and I like to say that we are many times copied, but never duplicated.

Are You A Musician or in Band?

I'm obsessed with music and will relate to your passion. I have been a concert and music addict since the early 1980's. I've gone to shows all over America my entire life- including seeing my favorite band- U2- 38 times live. I've been a concert photographer for 2 decades and I have had the privilege of working with artists such as Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez, Justin Bieber, Justin Timberlake, U2, Elton John, PINK, Tom Petty, Ed Sheeran, Pearl Jam, Twenty One Pilots, Mariah Carey... you get the picture:)

Are You Excited About Senior Pictures?

I promise that I am as excited as you are. I spend 100% of my life obsessing over high school culture and social media/photography styles. I come to your FNL's, gyms and events. I probably know many of the people you know. I'm your HYPE MAN! Let's make this one of the best days of your entire life! LETSGOOOOOOO!! You can decide exactly how you want your images to look and feel. I'm a master of photography, so I get to concentrate on the FUN LEVEL and just go crazy with you. If you are high energy, I will match it. If you want to chill and just hang and talk, I got you covered. Let's chase dreams.

Are You Dreading Senior Pictures?

Is Mom (or Dad) "forcing" you to get Senior Pictures taken? I understand. I work with a LOT of Seniors who do not want to get in front of a camera. I can tell you this- I have never had a Senior who did not end up having a great time on their shoot. Our shoots are chill. Our shoots are one big conversation, where photography just happens to be involved, LOL! Seriously though- the conversation never stops and you won't feel like you are at a shoot. I will show you a natural way to pose and move that is inside your comfort zone. We can shoot completely away from people/bystanders, so that no one is watching. I'm a master at shooting, so you don't have to sit around and wait for me. There's zero dead time. By the 10 minute mark, you'll understand how fun a photo sesh is and before you know it, the shoot is over! 

Have You Gone Through Pain or Challenges?

I have felt it, also. I'm a 2-time Cancer Survivor. I've faced my own death and it changed the way that I see people. I know how precious every day is. Every moment is. If you have a story to tell, I'd love to hear it. If you want to incorporate something deeply meaningful into your shoot- let's do it! Your story is powerful and deserves to be told.

Do You Struggle With Anxiety, Depression, etc?

I wrestle with ADHD, Anxiety and Depression myself. I am an empath, so I am constantly "feeling" how Mom and Senior are feeling during the entire session. This allows me to adjust the feel of your shoot day, from moment to moment. Your comfort and feelings are the focus of my shoot day. I will adjust things throughout your big day to ensure that you have the best time ever!

I am the husband of my love, Jen, and a dad of a spunky and sweet twelve-year-old girl named Crosbie Joy.  You will definitely hear me gush about them and tell all sorts of great stories about our adventures.

I am a two-time cancer survivor.  I faced my death at an early age and it changed the way I look at life and photography.

I am an encourager at heart.  I love to pump people up, make them smile and laugh and remind them how incredible they are.  Our Senior sessions are FULL of this!  My studio is different by design and you will be like family by the time we are done with our Senior Portrait Celebration!

I have had the opportunity to photograph all over the United States, in places like Los Angeles, Seattle, Denver, NYC, and DC.  I got to do photography in Africa (Nigeria) in 2008.  It has been a crazy ride and I continue to love to explore!

I’m an athlete and love photographing fellow athletes!  I played baseball through college (and a week in the minor leagues!) and have finished 7 marathons.

I love music and (obviously) shooting concerts.  My favorite bands are U2, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, Switchfoot, MUTEMATH, Hillsong United, RUSH, and… well, you get the point…

My wife is a world-class Graphic Designer and owner of Jen Brookman Graphic Design.
